In the summer of 2015, with the gentle nudge of a friend, Steven Brock and his team put pen to paper. They began to make plans for what would become the newly opened Grainworks Brewing Company. Since college Brock had been in the construction industry, and a lover of beer, but didn’t know much about the brewing process.
Steven, and his team spent over two years traveling the country exploring what makes brewery culture unique and independent. He has visited over 100 breweries, and brewmaster, Brian, has been to upwards of 150.
Their mission is to combine the history of Butler County, with an engaging atmosphere and killer beers. If you ask me, they’ve done just that.
They wanted to create a gathering place for enjoying one-of-a-kind brews, a place to cheer and watch games, and a space for chatting with friends, old and new.
You can’t help but notice their logo. It serves to represent the hand cranks that were used to grind the grain in pre-prohibition breweries. The gear, also in the shape of G, to honor the name of the brewery.

Want to meet Steven? You’ll find him behind the bar most nights. He loves getting the chance to meet guests, and share his brewing passion. He’s a natural storyteller who has always had a love for entertaining friends. Speaking of entertainment...
While Steven can’t single out a favorite beer of his own, there are certain ones that guests tend to gravitate towards. One of the first beers they brewed, the Scottish Mists, is a great example. If you’re looking for something a little sweeter, look no further than My Blue Heaven. This blueberry brew is delicious and refreshing.
Come for the beer, stay for the atmosphere. Steven and the crew at Grainworks can’t wait for you to come see what they’ve crafted.
