New Geocaching Adventure Labs

Embark on two different Geocaching Adventure Labs through Hamilton, Ohio! 

Geocaching has a new exciting app that enables anyone to discover, explore and learn about new places. Hamilton now has two Geocaching Adventure Labs so players can uncover hidden gems around this historic, thriving city. 

What is an Adventure Lab? 

Geocaching Adventure Lab is a new app from the Geocaching HQ that allows people to create, play and share location based experiences and games. Once you download the app, you'll be guided through the process of finding clues, solving puzzles, and completing Adventures one location at a time. If you’re already a Geocaching member, these caches count towards your geocaching statistics and total finds.

Unlike traditional geocaching, Adventures do not require a physical container and can be located indoors. Geocaching Adventure Lab expands the boundaries of traditional geocaching into new experiences. There are two fascinating adventures in Hamilton right now. 

The City of Sculpture

Hamilton is known to many as the City of Sculpture. This Adventure Lab takes you on a journey through some of Hamilton's famous sculptures and you learn a lot along the way too! 

The adventure is a walking tour that takes you to five different locations of a sculpture or statue. At each location, you'll be given clues and asked a question. Once you answer it correctly, you'll get a smiley face and complete that location. The best parking spot for this lab is at The Fitton Center for Creative Arts — Parking is free and easy to walk from. Plan for this adventure to take about 1-2 hours. Enjoy the tour and the art! 

The German Village

German Village is a nine-block historic district located immediately north of Hamilton's central business district. This Adventure Lab takes you throughout the area to learn more about it's beautiful history and showcases a great variety of 19th century architectural styles including Queen Anne, Italianate, Eastlake and Gothic Revival.

This tour will take you through multiple locations within the nine-blocks. At each location, you'll be given clues and asked a question. Once you answer it correctly, you'll get a smiley face and complete that location. A good parking spot is either in the McDulin Parking Garage, or along Marcum Park. Plan for this adventure to take about 1-2 hours. Enjoy the tour and the history!
