The McCloskey Museum honors Hamilton native Robert McCloskey, renowned author and illustrator of childrens books. Its collection includes original paintings, photographs, personal materials, literary awards and more. The museum hosts different interactive and educational events for kids throughout the year, all relating to Robert McCloskeys books. The museum is located in Heritage Hall inside Hamiltons historic Municipal Building carved into the outside of the building are flat murals done by Robert McCloskey when he was 19 years old. The museum is free to visit, open 10am – 4pm on Friday and Saturday.
