The Benninghofen House, home of the Butler County Historical Society, portrays the lifestyle of a prominent businessman and his family during the latter 19th century, as Hamilton developed into an industrial center. Original architectural details remain throughout the interior of this National Register buildings and offers a wonderful glimpse of the best of the past. Built in 1861, this beautiful home offers a glimpse into the history and living experience of the 1800's. The BCHS manages an adjacent archive that offers extensive original and secondary materials relating to regional history. The archives are available to the public with the assistance of a BCHS staff member.
